Now that I am switching to contract work, one of the things I need to do is keep track of my billable hours for clients. Haven’t been a salaried employee for the last 15 years, hours worked wasn’t something I ever needed to keep track of. But, now it’s vital to get paid correctly and on time.

I originally looked at all the professional apps & services out there & found myself settling on Harvest. But, then I thought to myself, I should be able to manage this on my own. So, I spent a weekend playing with iOS Shortcuts and this is what I came up with: a very simple set of shortcuts that tracks my time & allows me to create invoices.

The best thing? You only need 3 apps: the default iOS calendar app, Shortcuts, and Data Jar.
